June Diversity Calendar Highlights

GUAM AND SAIPAN FLOTILLA PARTNERSHIP FEATURE:

June is a wonderful month packed with diverse celebrations and important health awareness events. We kick off with National Cancer Survivors Day, honoring those who have fought and survived cancer, followed by Diabetes Awareness Week, which educates about diabetes and healthy living. On June 12, we celebrate Philippine Independence Day, marking the freedom and rich culture of the Philippines. Father’s Day gives us a chance to show love and appreciation for dads everywhere. Juneteenth Day commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S., celebrating freedom and African American history. Throughout the month, we also observe Caribbean-American Heritage Month and National Immigrant Heritage Month, honoring the contributions of Caribbean-Americans and immigrants to our society. Pride Month celebrates the LGBTQ+ community, promoting love and acceptance. Black Music Month recognizes the significant influence of Black musicians. National PTSD Month raises awareness about post-traumatic stress disorder and the importance of mental health. Lastly, Men’s Health Month encourages boys and men to adopt healthy habits and take care of their health. These celebrations and observances help us appreciate the diversity around us and remind us of the importance of health and well-being.  Don’t forget to also join us for the D204 Lions International Summer Story Time Literacy Partnership on June 22, 2024!
