Sunset, Service & Fellowship: Guam Flotilla Social

The Guam Flotilla Sunset Social was held on August 11, 2026, at the residence of Captain Jessica Worst at Flag Circle, Nimitz Hill. It was a truly meaningful evening that brought our members together in the spirit of fellowship, camaraderie, and service.

The evening included our flotilla meeting, meaningful conversations, shared food, and a breathtaking Guam sunset that provided the perfect backdrop for strengthening the bonds of friendship and teamwork within our flotilla. Moments like these remind us that while we serve with purpose, we also build lasting connections as a Coast Guard Auxiliary family. πŸŒ…⚓️ πŸ‡¬πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸš€

Blessing the Fleet, Honoring Our Maritime Legacy ⚓

Today, we gathered for a special Coast Guard Week tradition - the Blessing of the Fleet - to offer prayers for the safety and protection of our crews, vessels, and families.

Sector Chaplain Richard Min led this annual, cherished ceremony, offering prayers and blessings for all units and the vessels that carry them on their missions.

We began by observing Colors, then paused for a moment of silence to honor 9/11 heroes Vincent Danz and Jeffrey Palazzo, who were Coast Guard Reservists and have Guam-based Fast Response Cutters named in their honor.

Today, and every day, we honor the men and women who answer the call and take to the seas to safeguard Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the maritime interests of the Blue Pacific.

Happy 87th Birthday Coast Guard Auxiliary!

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary celebrates 87 years of continuous service to the U.S. Coast Guard. As a force multiplier, the Auxiliary works alongside active-duty and reserve personnel, performing a wide range of missions and supporting units throughout the nation. Nearly 30,000 uniformed civilian volunteers generously contribute their time, talents, and expertise in support of the Coast Guard’s mission.

For 87 years, Auxiliarists have advanced maritime safety and security through boating safety programs, public education, vessel safety checks, communications, chaplaincy, culinary assistance, marine environmental protection, search and rescue, emergency response, and many other vital missions.

Enjoy the following snapshots from a special colors ceremony held by USCG Forces Micronesia/Sector Guam at Naval Base Guam in celebration of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary’s 87th birthday.
